Wafer Tri-Clamp Butterfly Valve for Bulk Solids and Liquids
The sanitary Wafer butterfly valve with quick-release Tri-Clamp connection provides a professional solution for powder and liquid ingredient processing lines. Thanks to its forged metal structure, the body and disc exhibit superior resistance to corrosion, aggressive alkaline and acid cleaning solutions, and regular CIP/SIP sterilization.

✅ Key Design Advantages:
- Caking & Clumping Protection: Precision interior chamber machining (Ra ≤ 0.4 µm) combined with a custom FDA gasket profile eliminates dead zones, preventing powder retention and microbial growth.
- Versatile Bi-Directional Flow: The valve performs with equal reliability in both flow directions, enabling use on both the charging and discharging sides of reactors and vessels.
- Low Wear & Ergonomics: Optimized disc geometry reduces operating torque on the shaft, extending seal life and simplifying operation with manual handles or pneumatic actuators.
- Easy Installation & Maintenance: The Wafer design paired with a quick-release Tri-Clamp connection allows rapid disassembly for inspection or seal replacement without extended downtime.
📌 Applications
Shut-off and dosing of dry powders, granules, slurries, and liquids across the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, chemical, and homeopathic industries.
✔️ Operating Principle
The rotary valve disc acts as an oscillating blade that slices through the bulk solid or liquid material column during shut-off.
- Closing: A 90-degree shaft rotation places the disc perpendicular to the flow axis, pressing firmly into the elastomeric seal for a bubble-tight shut-off.
- Opening & Regulation: Rotating the disc parallel to the flow path opens the full bore for free product discharge. A multi-position handle enables locking the disc at intermediate angles for step-by-step discharge rate regulation.
