Compression Springs for Industrial Equipment

Description

A compression spring is a helical elastic element that carries an axial load and returns to its original length once the load is removed. In the free state the coils are separated by a gap (the pitch). When compressed, the spring stores energy and pushes back toward its free length, pressing against or pushing apart the adjoining parts. The end coils are closed and ground, so the spring seats squarely and the load is spread evenly over the bearing surface. We manufacture to customer drawings, technical specifications and samples.

Full description

Compression springs for production lines and process equipment

Compression springs are used in valve assemblies, damping and hold-down mechanisms, and locking devices. They are found in tablet presses, dosing units, cartoning machines, and packaging and filling lines. Precise coiling and a controlled spring rate keep the force characteristics of the assembly stable, and spring set (loss of free length) is minimal over long service.

DATAPHARM designs and manufactures cylindrical compression springs in a range of sizes and configurations. CNC coiling followed by heat treatment improves resistance to cyclic loading and metal fatigue.

📌 Applications

  • Maintaining a stable clamping force in forming, capping and sealing units.
  • Absorbing shocks and damping vibration of moving parts.
  • Operating safety valves, shut-off devices and dosing systems.
  • Holding parts in position under sudden loads.

✅ Advantages

  1. Made to your samples, specifications or drawings, including one-off replacements for worn parts.
  2. Closed and ground ends ensure square seating on the support surface.
  3. Quenching and tempering reduce the risk of set and wear.
  4. A wide choice of materials for the operating conditions, from carbon spring steel to stainless and heat-resistant steel.
  5. Protective coatings for humid and aggressive environments.
